About Me

I am a 15 year old guy who is drawn to knives and other pointy objects. In this blog, I hope to cover basics of knife ownership and eventually DIY knives. Nothing is for sale (yet) as I haven't made anything yet...

So my real forge is coming together. I have a lot of the required parts.
As you can see, I've got an anvil here; it's a little one, but it's certainly better than a rock.

I also have a hammer. It's a 1000g (about 2 lbs) Peddinghaus cross peen hammer. I really like it.

Here is the fire pot and pipe to the pot. Obviously the rest needs to be fabricated, but this is probably one of the most crucial parts of the forge other than the blower.

I found some really nice old knives in the basement. Among these is a 1897 Krag bayonet! A friend told me (He knows knives) that it could be worth $80-$800. That is pretty awesome, but I'm not selling it. Anyway, this is a picture of the best knives in my collection. From left to right, top to bottom: Ka-Bar USMC fighting knife, railroad spike knife, two unidentified knives, bayonet, decorative San Francisco knife with fake etched ivory inlays, Buck Lancer, Boy Scout knife, two more unidentified knives, Gerber Remix, another older Boy Scout knife.
